Discrimination

Discrimination occurs when you have been treated unfairly because of a particular characteristic you have. The Equality Act 2010 protects you from such discrimination by employers, public bodies, schools and other education providers, health care providers and other organisations.

Age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation and pregnancy or maternity are ‘protected characteristics’ under the Equality Act 2010.This means it is unlawful to discriminate against you because of one or a combination of them.

Sinclairslaw specialise in all areas of Discrimination Law.

We use the Human Rights Act to argue for privacy and the respect for private life afforded by Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

We have also acted in cases where discrimination was alleged under Article 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights. A large amount of our work involves claims against Higher Education Institutions, but we are not limited to this area.

If you feel you have been discriminated against and whatever the nature of your discrimination case, please contact John Ford Solicitors to receive expert service and advice. We can also offer assistance and tailored services for all information, data requests and appeals.
