Barbara-Jane Davies is a solicitor based at our Cardiff office who joined the firm in 2019. Barbara-Jane completed the GDL, with commendation, at Swansea University in 2015 and Master of Laws in Legal Practice and Advanced Drafting, with merit, in 2016. She was named as one of the student success stories at the graduation ceremony in 2017.
Barbara-Jane worked for many years for various government organisations and charities supporting families facing a range of issues, primarily in areas of high deprivation, before embarking on a career in law. She is passionate about helping people, especially the most vulnerable in society, to access their rights.
Barbara-Jane has a broad range of experience of working within the Court of Protection area of law. She has represented family members, Protected Parties through their litigation friends, including the Official Solicitor and Relevant Persons Representatives in a range of welfare cases. She has extensive experience in cases relating to objections to deprivation of liberty, as well as contentious proceedings for Deputyships and/or Lasting Power of Attorney revocation applications.
As well as dealing with contentious matters, Barbara-Jane can provide advice in relation to Lasting Power of Attorney and Deputyship applications for both Property & Financial Affairs and /or Personal Welfare.
